Leader: Darrell Edwards
Our church loves to minister to the fatherless. James 1:27 says, "Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world."
Western Meadows isn't big on programs, but HUGE on living a life that Christ would be proud of. There are many foster and/or adoptive families in our church. There are even more families that partner with those families so they can help.
A ministry that most of our foster/adoptive families are also involved in is ministering to the biological families of these children. Helping them with day-to-day things, such as: marriage, parenting, budgeting, keeping a home and particularly sharing the love of God with them.
We love to help our local Foster Parent Association by hosting their meetings or helping them raise money. We enjoy ministering to them during their special events throughout the year.
Our Pastor trains Foster/Adoptive families curriculum (OK PRIDE) that the State of Oklahoma requires of them. He also assists families in the approval process for their homes.
